From 3 to 22 July, a group of students and staff of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University attended a summer Chinese language programme at Shandong Jiaotong University in China. The programme was delivered in two locations: at the university’s campuses in Jinan and Weihai.
Established in 1956, Shandong Jiaotong University is a higher education institution located in the city of Jinan in Shandong Province. Ranked among top 50 universities in China for graduate employability, it offers courses and programmes leading to higher education degrees in several areas of study. The university’s campus in Weihai, one of the most beautiful and clean cities in China, sprawls over 66.6 hectares of land and offers a range of excellent facilities both for learning and for recreation. Shandong Jiaotong University employs a number of Vernadsky CFU’s graduates who, having a good command of Russian, take an active role in the development of closer ties and cooperation between the two universities.
The twelve students of Vernadsky CFU’s Humanities and Education Science Academy in Yalta and three members of the university’s staff were selected to attend the summer school, to act as Vernadsky CFU representatives and to take part in a packed programme of lectures and meetings, visits to local attractions and cultural activities. The summer school was attended as part of international academic mobility projects implemented within Vernadsky CFU’s Development Programme.
